This is the 3rd time we have visited Bossington Hall, and yet again we were looked after amazingly. Its a great property situated on a hill with fantastic views including the sea, and it has everything locally you need. The Breakfasts are continental and English cooked to order ,and are always good. The rooms are spacious with en suites and very well decorated. We have never experienced any noise. A perfect B&B, a real find. 😀 - It was exactly as described a luxury B&B with exceptional attention to detail. A perfect setting in a perfect location, even on a wet November day. Every area of the hotel was clean immaculately presented. Breakfast superb, and pre stay information sent on places to eat, made the stay completely enjoyable. So much so that on Saturday afternoon, for the first time in my life, I fell asleep in a wonderfully comfortable armchair.|The house itself is a beautiful, classic country house, lovingly maintained and extremely clean and comfortable throughout. The extensive garden was a delight with its tennis and squash courts and provided a very pleasant walk with long views of open rural countryside.|Breakfast was a great treat: a buffet for cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit and toast, followed by a wonderful selection of marvellously cooked breakfasts, served by an accomplished waitress. What an idyllic place to stay in one of the most beautiful stretches of UK coastline. If you like coastal hikes, stunning English countryside, ancient small villages, and characterful pubs filled with locals and their dogs, then this area is for you. You can do no better than to stay at Bossington Hall - a magnificent country house, exquisitely restored, so it is extremely comfortable as well as impressively grand. An absolutely fabulous place to stay, fully deserving of its recent award. The location is simply stunning. The view across Porlock Bay in the evening sunshine from the terrace is amazing. It's a beautiful building too (both inside & out), with an interesting history. Our room was very comfortable and the breakfast was lovely. We were extremely well looked after at all times. We can't recommend Bossington Hall enough, what a wonderful setting for a relaxing mini break. The hall itself is so welcoming, airy and impeccably clean. Our room had countryside views and was beautifully presented. After a wonderfully peaceful nights sleep Annie had prepared a fabulous breakfast, we chose from the buffet and ordered our hot food which was freshly prepared. The coast path is a short walk away and Porlock is a mile or so for a lovely evening meal. We loved the friendliness of the place and the honesty bar with drinks, cheese and biscuits. Simply the best B and B we've been to...(and we're both quite seasoned travellers!)|Others have lavished praise on location, atmosphere, rooms etc to which we heartily concur.|We'd add one other; and that is the facility exists for bringing in a light evening supper and eating in "at home": often a preferred option after a day out...and so much more relaxing too, in the spacious and beautiful environment, both in and out of the house!|We'd love to return...but it IS a long, slow drive across NW Somerset....but believe me, it's worth it . - 9/18/2025 

Think not of the Hall, in the accepted way, as a b&b. It is far more. The spaciousness, quality etc. are unneeding of further praise. It's the atmosphere that is most important.There's a friendly rapport between staff and guests, but never overbearing. The light touch extends to the breakfast facilities and bar, where there is an understanding that most guests are mature enough in human qualities to enjoy whatever they wish, being mindful of their responsibilities to the owner and themselves.Whilst the situation of the pleasing building and grounds is not mathematically central to the moors, this is not significant when the day begins and ends in a way that make you feel geography isn't paramount to having a very good break.This will not be to everyone's taste, and, understandably, we all have personal quirks, but, comfortably, this is a most unusually good b&b. - 9/18/2025

We had a fantastic stay at Bossington Hall. It’s set in a beautiful, peaceful location with stunning views. Our room was beautifully decorated, with great attention to detail. It was very spacious, well-maintained and came with a lovely large bathroom. The breakfast was excellent as well — delicious food enjoyed with a wonderful view.|A charming touch were the binoculars placed around the house, allowing us to take in even more of the surrounding nature. We were even given a pair to take with us, along with a helpful tip to reach Dunkery Hill by bike, so we could try to spot Exmoor ponies. The staff was very friendly and we enjoyed the use of the honesty bar with fair prices for the products.|We truly wished we could have stayed longer, but unfortunately had to move on after just two nights. Einfach Traumhaft! 😀 - Wir waren nach 10 Jahren wieder in Bristol und im Exmoor Nationalpark zu Besuch. Wir haben uns riesig gefreut nach so langer Zeit wieder im Haus zu sein. Damals noch unter anderer Leitung als LynchCountryHouse und heute modernisiert als BossingtonHall. Für uns ein sehr schönes und emotionales Erlebnis, da wir mit dem Ort vieles verbinden. Wer die Ruhe mag, Natur, Tiere, Sternenhimmel und etwas Luxus, darf sich sehr freuen. Die Aussicht von der Terrasse auf die Steilküste ist Atemberaubend. Das kleine Dorf Bossington und Lynch ein kleiner Traum. Unser Zimmer in der oberen Kategorie mit Badewanne, Dusche, großes Bett und mit Ausblick auf den Garten und das Meer waren etwas ganz besonderes. Zum Frühstück gab es leckeres Müsli und eine Auswahl an warmen Speisen die wirklich sehr lecker waren. Im Zimmer den Lounges gibt es Kaffee, Tee und andere Leckereien. Es war traumhaft. Vielen Dank, wir kommen gerne wieder! 😞 - In 10 Jahren verändern sich natürlich Dinge. Das Haus hat Charme und es ist toll renoviert. Ich wünsche mir aber, dass für das große Anwesen wieder Gärtner vor Ort sind, die den typisch englischen Garten wieder auf Vordermann zu bringen. Da ist noch viel Potential drin. - 9/10/2025

Comfortable & spacious with sea views. Hosts Guy & Anne’s beautiful renovation of this stately & welcoming home has it all: attention to detail and to guests without hovering. Loads of thoughtful extras like easy EV car charging, place settings so guests can relax with an evening takeout, an honesty bar. Then there were those unscripted moments: peregrine falcons that congregated in a big pine in the garden nearly every evening, a 100 year old mulberry tree with delicious berries and playing squash in an historic squash court! We spent a most enjoyable two days at Bossington Hall.We loved the authentic grandeur of this Arts & Crafts home and the genuinely warm welcome.The staff ensured our stay was relaxed with the most impressive and comfortable bedroom. The breakfasts were quite exceptional, and the grounds were a joy.If you are happy to stay in during the evenings, a range of light snacks is available and an ‘honesty’ bar ensures you will be well catered for. If you want a more substantial supper, then it is worth giving some advanced thought to where you might eat locally. There are plenty of choices, but booking is advised in a busy season.For our vacations, we look for history, authenticity, a touch of grandeur and welcoming staff. This was our third time at Bossington Hall and our first in nearly 3 years. It is still as wonderful as ever, improved by the increased honesty offering of snacks and drinks. Our room (Ivystone) was very spacious and comfortable. The huge bathroom was also impressive. We had previously stayed in Endercombe which was equally lovely. ||The breakfast is excellent, both in produce and service. The woman serving us was friendly, professorial and attentive.
