Einfach Traumhaft! 😀 - Wir waren nach 10 Jahren wieder in Bristol und im Exmoor Nationalpark zu Besuch. Wir haben uns riesig gefreut nach so langer Zeit wieder im Haus zu sein. Damals noch unter anderer Leitung als LynchCountryHouse und heute modernisiert als BossingtonHall. Für uns ein sehr schönes und emotionales Erlebnis, da wir mit dem Ort vieles verbinden. Wer die Ruhe mag, Natur, Tiere, Sternenhimmel und etwas Luxus, darf sich sehr freuen. Die Aussicht von der Terrasse auf die Steilküste ist Atemberaubend. Das kleine Dorf Bossington und Lynch ein kleiner Traum. Unser Zimmer in der oberen Kategorie mit Badewanne, Dusche, großes Bett und mit Ausblick auf den Garten und das Meer waren etwas ganz besonderes. Zum Frühstück gab es leckeres Müsli und eine Auswahl an warmen Speisen die wirklich sehr lecker waren. Im Zimmer den Lounges gibt es Kaffee, Tee und andere Leckereien. Es war traumhaft. Vielen Dank, wir kommen gerne wieder! 😞 - In 10 Jahren verändern sich natürlich Dinge. Das Haus hat Charme und es ist toll renoviert. Ich wünsche mir aber, dass für das große Anwesen wieder Gärtner vor Ort sind, die den typisch englischen Garten wieder auf Vordermann zu bringen. Da ist noch viel Potential drin. - 9/10/2025

Comfortable & spacious with sea views. Hosts Guy & Anne’s beautiful renovation of this stately & welcoming home has it all: attention to detail and to guests without hovering. Loads of thoughtful extras like easy EV car charging, place settings so guests can relax with an evening takeout, an honesty bar. Then there were those unscripted moments: peregrine falcons that congregated in a big pine in the garden nearly every evening, a 100 year old mulberry tree with delicious berries and playing squash in an historic squash court! The house is set in beautiful grounds and offers a peaceful atmosphere. Both the house and my room were well-maintained and spotlessly clean. The owners and staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. Breakfast was of a high standard — I tried the Eggs California, which was beautifully presented and perfectly seasoned. We spent a most enjoyable two days at Bossington Hall.We loved the authentic grandeur of this Arts & Crafts home and the genuinely warm welcome.The staff ensured our stay was relaxed with the most impressive and comfortable bedroom. The breakfasts were quite exceptional, and the grounds were a joy.If you are happy to stay in during the evenings, a range of light snacks is available and an ‘honesty’ bar ensures you will be well catered for. If you want a more substantial supper, then it is worth giving some advanced thought to where you might eat locally. There are plenty of choices, but booking is advised in a busy season.For our vacations, we look for history, authenticity, a touch of grandeur and welcoming staff. This was our third time at Bossington Hall and our first in nearly 3 years. It is still as wonderful as ever, improved by the increased honesty offering of snacks and drinks. Our room (Ivystone) was very spacious and comfortable. The huge bathroom was also impressive. We had previously stayed in Endercombe which was equally lovely. ||The breakfast is excellent, both in produce and service. The woman serving us was friendly, professorial and attentive. We stayed for 2 nights at Bossington Hall and had the most relaxing, wonderful stay. Our room was spacious, with a super king sized bed and extremely comfortable. It was clean, well presented and well equipped with tea and coffee facilities together with a fridge. An added bonus was thick cosy dressing gowns and slippers for us both to use as our own bathroom was across the hallway which was not a problem for us and was large and spacious. The shower was hot and plentiful with soft, clean towels. |The view from our room was stunning and so peaceful. The breakfasts beautifully cooked and plentiful with lots of choice and an added touch was the honesty bar for drinks, snacks, cheese and crackers. |Guy is a fantastic host, friendly and welcoming and nothing too much trouble. This is an absolutely stunning location and the views are spectacular. ||The welcome was a bit lukewarm but the room was lovely with everything you need. The only downside is that the bathroom for the room next door is situated across the hallway so it is disturbing at night with doors open and closing. The car park can be a bit tight as well if there are several guests.||Breakfast was superb with a good variety of cold buffet and hot food cooked to order. - 7/21/2025

Perfect weekend away, in a beautiful location 😀 - Had a great short stay at Bossington Hall, the local walks were awesome. Watching the sunset, with dolphins rolling below was a highlight. Porlock and Porlock Weir nearby has great places to eat and sit by the sea and not too touristy. The B&B itself was great, in a beautiful location, with great views of Exmoor and the sea. The room was clean and tidy, bed was comfy and the bath in the room was an added bonus. - 7/17/2025 

The room (Haddon) was so comfortable & welcoming, we didn't really want to leave. The staff couldn't do enough to make you feel at home. Breakfast cooked to perfection. Just returned from a long weekend in Porlock. Bossington Hall set us up for success to explore Exmoor. First class breakfast, stunning views and grounds, extremely comfortable rooms where the non-suite bathroom added to its charm and run by kind people. We stayed for 2 nights and Bossington Hall was the perfect base to visit Dunster/Dunster Castle and Exmoor from. The rooms are spacious, clean and well equipped. We had a lovely relaxing break at Bossington Hall in June.||This property is an Edwardian house which is now a beautiful bed and breakfast on the outskirts of Porlock in scenic countryside and far reaching views of the sea from certain rooms and the terrace.|We stayed in Danesbrook room for 5 nights it is a spacious and comfortable room with en-suite shower .|We were provided with bathrobes and slippers if needed.||The breakfast room is an attractive room with the lovely views across the gardens to the sea.||Guy and his staff provide a good choice of cooked options and a buffet before of cereal, fresh fruit and yoghurts.|You certainly will not go hungry if you stay there.||One piece of information we will include is that the hall is a short drive from the A39 down winding country lanes so just take your time as you approach the hall.|It will be worth the effort on arrival.||We would be happy to return again in the future to this attractive part of Somerset and Exmoor as still plenty to explore.|Thanks to Guy and his hardworking team at the hotel. - 6/22/2025

I never write reviews (tut tut), but this time I feel compelled to do so, and, warning, it's a long one. If you need to de-stress, step away from the chaos, focus on work, or treat yourself, this is the best place to stay in Somerset and immerse yourself in the beautiful surrounding nature. Bossington Hall and its grounds are stunning. As I arrived after hours, I was immediately hit by the beauty and quiet of the place, followed by the easy check-in and the joy I felt as I entered my room. Everything is clean, well presented, stylish, and spacious. I stayed in the Ivystone room with a huge ensuite bathroom including a roll top bath. Where you can soak and watch rabbits, birds, and stare at the Exmoor and Quantock Hills. |I walked to Porlock village the first evening and popped to the Top Ship. You feel really safe walking there and back. The Bossington Hall breakfasts are delicious, well thought out, and sensibly curated. It's a very nice, peaceful dining experience, with lovely background music, and you don't feel at all uncomfortable if you're on your own. |Parking is easy. The interior spaces of the hall are gorgeous. Complimentary beverages and a cute little bottle of milk in your fridge are in your room (don't you just despise those awful little plastic UHT things - none of that nonsense here). Plenty of water, biscuits, tea/coffee/herbals, and crisps too. And the customary mini dark chocs.|The bed must have been perfect because I went from a 3-hour sleep the night before to an 8-hour rested night!|The people who own the luxury B&B are lovely. Not at all intimidating or annoying. |Guy is wonderful. There's always a spot of trepidation when you choose to stay somewhere. Depending on how you feel or who you are, you may not want someone who talks to you too much, or you may want more attention from a host. Guy intuitively reads his guests and immediately takes the right approach whilst being himself. I challenge anyone not to feel special and looked after with his charming personality and kind professionalism.|Now, I didn't have my glasses on at the time, but as I sat at the front of the house enjoying the landscape and I saw my first Golden-collared woodpecker. I came here to focus on work, staying for two nights, taking one full day of deep work focus. I'm leaving here this morning, having achieved what I needed to do, to go back to my family and business with renewed vigour. |Stay here, you won't regret it! Bossington Hall found us via Wolsey Lodges. What a beautiful place to stay, charming owners Guy and Annie and their small team could not have made us more welcome. You feel like you have gone to visit friends staying here. We really recommend this to anyone looking for R&R. ||A first class bed with a beautiful bathroom and oceans of hot water. We were very comfortable and so was Ida the dog with her own bowl, treats, towel and space. |A lovely homemade breakfast set us up for the day. If you are looking for somewhere special to stay this is the place. The location is beautiful, set in well cared for grounds, with views across to Porlock Bay which are `to die for'. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfy, welcome basket in room, binoculars to see views close up, blankets on the armchairs and ...total peace. What a superb quality Bed & Breakfast, from the moment you arrive you are welcomed and made to feel at home. Following the detailed introduction to the hall and all its facilities you are left completely alone to enjoy. Honesty bar is a real nice touch to help you enjoy a sun downer on the extensve patio. The quality sauna is also a major plus particularly if you are walking the South West Coastal Path as we were on this visit. Perfecly located with wonderful view and footpaths directly from the House into the forest. The rooms are beatifully decorated and cosy, and a really nice bed and fluffy towels. Breakfast was great with a choice of cooked dishes, and berries of top quality. Plus for the tasty complimentary snacks in the room, and a good variety of drinks in the honesty bar. We stayed in the self catering apartment as we have a small dog. We were greeted at the door by Guy and shown around. The apartment was lovely and well kitted out with all we needed. Our dog was given his own towel and a supply of biscuits. The grounds and surrounding area are very picturesque and we enjoyed a stroll past some quaint cottages down to the local beach. We had heard about the legendary breakfasts so even though we were self catering we managed to sneak in a couple of sittings and enjoyed a very tasty egg benadict.
