Bossington Hall is an ideal walkers and hikers base, with the iconic Exmoor pathways at the back gate leading across the Holnicote Estate grounds next door. From here, you can walk to the birdwatchers paradise of Hurlstone Point, and up onto North Hill which holds the remains of the WW2 tank training grounds. Still, without crossing a single bit of tarmac, you can traverse across the SSSI Marshland where samphire grows, and the bomber crashed, again in WW2, and along the SW coast path all the way to the Pubs and restaurants of Porlock Weir – where, finally, you have to touch a bit of tarmac! Upon return to the Hall, peel off the boots in the Mud Room, wipe the Pooch down with the Dog Towels, and pad across to the Honesty Bar and crack open an ice cold little beer, collapsing into the chairs looking over the views we have……
